Led by Artistic Directors Philip Glass and Laurie Anderson with Musical Director Tony Shanahan, the evening features artists such as Jesse Malin, Toro y Moi, and more. All proceeds support the work of Tibet House US, a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy founded in 1987 at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to ensure the survival of the unique Tibetan civilization.
Performers include seminal rock-n-roll pioneer, complex songstress, incandescent frontwoman of Blondie, actor and fashion icon Debbie Harry, founding member of iconic New Wave band The B-52s Kate Pierson, New York’s quintessential renaissance man Jesse Malin, GRAMMY & JUNO Award–winning artist, songwriter, author, activist and actor Allison Russell, trailblazing chillwave singer, songwriter and producer Toro y Moi, musician, songwriter, actor and producer Maya Hawke and acclaimed singer/songwriter Christian Lee Hutson, as well as The Philip Glass Ensemble (PGE), whose members remain inimitable interpreters of Glass’s work, Tibetan artist, composer, activist, musical director and cultural ambassador Tenzin Choegyal, The Resistance Revival Chorus—a collective of women and non-binary singers who join together to breathe joy and song into the resistance—and GRAMMY Award–winning, cutting-edge electro-acoustic string quartet The Scorchio Quartet, with more to be announced soon. Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Arden Wohl and Jonah Freeman will serve as the evening’s honorary chairs.
