UT Electroacoustic Ensemble

The UT Electroacoustic Ensemble performs contemporary improvisational music that incorporates electronics alongside acoustic instruments. Based out of the University of Tennessee, they have performed across the US making appearances at festivals such as Big Ears (TN), Electro-Music (IN/NC/NY), and ISIM (MN). The ensemble was formed in the fall semester of 2015 and released its first album, Vantablack, in the Spring semester of 2017. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Jorge Variego.

I was a member of the ensemble (saxophone, guitar, electronics) from 2016 until my graduation from UT in 2018, and have occasionally appeared as an alum. This ensemble largely guided my direction as a young artist, offering real grounds for experimentation, and introducing me to many great collaborators.
