Alex Ring Gray is a New York-based composer and multimedia artist. Drawing upon his interests in astronomy, landscape, and technology, his work deals largely with environment and electronic processes.
In addition to his work as a composer, Alex has worked as a music copyist for Philip Glass, John Luther Adams, and Paola Prestini, among others. For the 2020 season, he is working closely with the Philip Glass Ensemble to restore the “forgotten” work Music In Eight Parts (1970). Additionally, he works as a music technologist, and is the Technical Assistant for the Nief-Norf Summer Festival. Alex is completing his graduate studies with Michael Gordon and Julia Wolfe at NYU and holds a BM from the University of Tennessee.
