Alex Ring Gray is a NYC composer, performer, and sound artist whose work focuses on psychoacoustics, integrating technology, and the natural world. Alex composes both concert and computer music, creates multimedia installations, and performs free improvisation. Recent performances include Big Ears Festival, Nief-Norf Summer Festival, and the International Electro-Music Festival. Installation work has appeared at The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, Casa Gallery, Gallery 1010, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is the current music publishing and management intern at Philip Glass's Dunvagen Music and was the Music Technology Assistant at the 2018 Nief-Norf Summer Festival. He is working on his MM in composition at New York University where he studies with Michael Gordon and Julia Wolfe. He holds a BM in composition and musicology from the University of Tennessee where he studied under Andrew Sigler.
